'Yes, Please & Thank You'
- Ottawa Capital Rockers -
Original songwriting by Jarrod W. & Gavin D. these songs are the compilation of three years as collaborators. These songs were written and performed throughout our first year as a band with Will A. on the drums. The songs were selected from a library of songwriting that has grown over the past four years; audiences watched us perform these numbers across the city of Ottawa, Ontario. The first band project was an E.P. demo, of which a handful were produced, titled "Musical Sleeves' - the product of synergy from three friends. The band experimented with recording on the lo-fi setup available, until Will moved on to discover his smooth guitar playing style & Lucas M. continued to carry the beats. This change illuminated the lightbulb of our minds, a Pink Light on the horizon.
'Pink Light' is the most recent full length contribution of 'Yes, Please & Thank You'. Recording began in 2012 with Lucas providing the percussion & was met with an upgrade in recording equipment, as well as know-how. The live shows beamed with the same raw energy you can find on this album. The recording was entirely a DIY approach (with a little help from our friends) from the recording sessions to engineering & post production. We are happy to share our most focused product with the world & hope you will enjoy it as we do!
Songwriting, however, has always been the priority and heart of this band - it's all in the performance - better realized in the present tense; recording was an important process to understand, but it is the natural progression of the band to 'play' this music. How this band has evolved is credited, not only to these two drummers but our last compatriot and friend Pat S., joining up for live performances & refining, revival of old & actualization of some newly written songs, all into 2013.
The next step for YPnTY is to search for the next chance to play live again. Pink Light will be left to float amongst those with eager ears but there are still more songs to be heard from these gentlemen. For now, the band carries these past three years as a shared experience & lifetime opportunity to grow as musicians, as people, and build a bond with an audience looking for an energetic rock show! Our lives are twisting toward the next step, which will be...
Yes, we have finished our first record!
Please, enjoy it!
& Thank You for listening!
